Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Michelle (Bernstein) Lee on October 17, 2005:

It will be 2 years tomorrow since we lost our dear David- I just wanted to post on here to tell my parents and brother, who still view this site, how much David is still a part of my life.

I know that David is surrounding us all with his love- every tear and smile throughout my days have a little of David in them. Every time I run, I see David in front of me (running backwards up hills, chanting "Faster Michelle, faster!!!) Every time I see the American flag or a man or woman in BDUs, I see David. Every time someone tells me how much they work out and that they eat 12 bowls of cereal for breakfast, I think of David. Every time I hear of another patriotic soldier killed in action, I think of David. Every time I look at my wedding photos, I think of David. Every time I recite the Kaddish, I think of David. Every time I think that a daily battle is too tough to fight or too insurmountable to win, I think of David and press forward. Every time I see fall leaves turning into vibrant reds and yellows, I think of David. Every time TAPS is played, I think of David. Every time I hear of soldiers coming home from Iraq, I think of David. Every time I see a West Point bumper sticker, I think of David. Every night that I fall asleep, I think of David. Each year on my birthday, I think of David.

Mom, Dad, and Doug- I love you so much and wanted you to know when I think of David.
Fondly, your daughter and sister, Michelle
