To the family of Capt. John L. Hallett,III, You do not know me. I live in Utah, a long way from where your husband, father, son served. I do not know you, nor, of course, Capt. Hallet. But what I do know about him, even from this far distance, is that he had a rare sense of courage, of service, and a vision to create something better in this world. That makes him rare and a hero. Thank you for his service to us. The world is a little better because he was brave enough to live his vision. May the Lord hold your family close at this time, and may his children, and new daughter, learn about the courage of a man who made a difference in the lives of strangers. Carol Smedley |
