Be Thou At Peace

| While running the Seattle Marathon on 6/23/2012, I encountered a group of veterans somewhere between mile 10-15 who were hosting a memorial for all of the fallen service members from the state of Washington. Among the large poster-sized photographs of familiar faces, I saw a picture of John Hallett and immediately burst into tears. The encounter was totally unexpected, but it really fired me up for the rest of the race. Although not very close, I remember him as a cadre member in my company during Beast Barracks--and a good man. |
