Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Adam Heppe on January 25, 2005:

Joe - my teammate, my roommate, my friend for life.

You don't forget Joe, once you've met him, how could you? He was everything you would want to be. His smile and his laugh were infectious. He was a friend to everyone who was lucky enough to have him walk into their life.

As Matty, Nate and I's roommate in flight school, Joe led the charge. Whether it was tailgating at FSU, New Years in Atlanta, or hosting one of the many parties at the Tavern, Joe had every detail covered. We are talking about a guy who would marinate 5 lbs of aspargus 48 hours before a tailgate...Joe was a pro. If you weren't having the time of your life, then Joe was not satisfied.

Joe, you taught me how to cook, how to party, and how to get the most from life. I am forever in your debt.

Joe was an outstanding pilot, top of his class, passed up the coveted "fixed wing" slot to fly apaches, because he didnt join the aviation community to fly generals around. Joe was a leader and an inspiration and the reason that I am an apache pilot today.

We love you Joe...you will never be forgotten. There are too many people out there that will smile just at the mention of your name.

Cheers My Friend...You touched more lives in your short time here than most of us can hope to touch in a lifetime.

To Honor...and the best of times, your friend,
Adam
