Be Thou At Peace

Posted by David and Vicki Hellyer family on January 28, 2005:

What is there to say about this absolutely wonderful human being who has been unexpectedly and quickly removed from our lives? After meeting Joe for the very first time, our family fell in love with him, and he was one of our own. He is what every mother wishes their son could be in every way! The last time I personally spoke with him, I said "Please be careful" to which Joe replied (and I quote from memory, since I was so concerned about him leaving us) "Don't worry. I'm just going to do my job and that is what I was meant to do. God will take care of me". As, apparently He has, in taking Joe without apparent suffering to be home with Him at this time, for whatever reason. Joe had just sent us a thank you for his Christmas present before he left. He said "When I get back, we'll have a hell of a party"! And we will too, in heaven with him when it is our turn. He's just blessed to be there first. He was certainly doing what he loved, and we will love him forever! We can know for certain that Joe is up there watching all of this and knows just how much we all love him. It is now up to us to carry on his wonderful view of life. We love you Joe!
