Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Cunningham on May 16, 2008:

To Drew's Family:

I was a plebe in Drew Pearson's company when he was a sophomore, and he was always a no nonsense and conscientious guy. I lost my little brother in Iraq just a week prior to Drew's passing, and I can only imagine your sorrow right now. We grieve with you, and I only hope you feel the love, respect, and gratitude of his fellow Soldiers, fellow West Pointers, and so many appreciative and caring people in our nation as we have for my little brother Tim. I know from the outpouring of support for my brother's death, so many people are grieving for you and for the loss of a fine man and true hero.
I know no words can ease the pain of your loss, but we grieve with you, and we Soldiers in Iraq now will not let his sacrifice go in vain.
May the God of all comforts be with you and continue to wrap his loving arms around you and your family long after the crowds have gone.

Sincerely,
John Cunningham, CPT, Engineer ('02)
Tikrit Iraq
