Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Miles Baker on March 4, 2009:
Dear Bunting Family, Bless you in the name of Yeshua! I have only happy memories of Brian from our time in 2nd Regiment at West Point. I knew him for all four years, and since we lived in the same building I saw him on a pretty regular basis. After graduation I lost touch with Brian until February 20th of this year. I was returning to Afghanistan from R&R leave and ran into Brian as we both walked up the ramp of the C-17 that was headed back to Bagram Airfield. After the flight, I stayed behind at the terminal to catch up with him a bit before his flight south. We spoke a little about his being called up from IRR, working with the Afghans in Kandahar, and how he was looking forward to finishing up his training mission here so that he could then return home in a few months. So, I was very saddened when I heard the news a week later, but I was grateful to the Lord for allowing me to reconnect with Brian one more time. He seemed like a very happy man (like I remember from school), and it was a joy to hear about his life.
Grace and Peace to your family. Miles Baker USMA '02 (D2)
