Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Denae & Brian McCoy on November 22, 2005:

To Tori and the Gurbisz Family,

Brian and I are deeply saddend by the death of Jimmy. We cannot even begin to fathom the pain that you are going through right now. We continue to pray for you daily, that God will provide you strength to cope at such a tragic time.

Jimmy was not only a dear and true friend to Brian, my husband, he was his Rugby teammate, and at West Point, and they called each other "Brothers." I've never seen a sports team as close as these guys were. They were in my mind a band of brothers like no other. Our hearts ache of his loss. He was a brave young man who put his life on the line for a country he loved dearly. Jimmy was a man of smiles and laughter. He could laugh like no other and always wanted to bring a smile to someone's face. He will be deeply missed.

The poem below is something that I received from the Catholic Church when my parents sent in a cenacle prayer request for Jimmy. Masses will be said in Jimmy's name, and he will be remembered also in the prayers of the Sisters of the Cenacle.

Safe in God's Keeping

I am Home in Heaven, dear ones.
Oh! so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this Everlasting Light

All the pain and grief are over,
Every restless yearning past;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely Home in Heaven at last.

Dear ones, do not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust Our Father's Will.

When your work is all completed
He will gently call you Home,
Oh! the parture of that meeting!
Oh! the joy to see you come!

God Bless,
Denae and Brian McCoy
