Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Erich Meyerhoff on November 24, 2005:

To Victoria & Jim's family:
As the Holiday Season is upon us, know that I really feel your sense of loss. Be strong. Jim would want it that way. When times are full of grief, also know that life is fragile. I hope you handle Jim's loss to the world with prayer.
We simply cannot know our last moment on earth. Take comfort knowing that the God that formed you in the womb with love knows when you'll see Him again should you choose to believe. This is a time of Joy and Sorrow that does not make sense. Please know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers as Jim's enjoyment of life comes to mind. It all seems so premature to have lost a Plebe year roommate/friend and company/classmate. The world seems darker, but take heart in St. Paul's words to Corinth: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." {1 Corinthians 2:9}
Lovingly,

Erich
