I don't remember ever meeting Torre at school but grew to know and respect him when I was assigned to 2/3 ACR. One of the first things we discovered about each other was that we shared the same hometown. Torre was always an earnest dedicated professional who loved his profession (if not always his job), his soldiers, and his peers. But he was more than a committed and competent officer - he was a friend to all and never hesitated to brighten your day with a big smile or a kind word. Our lives here in 2/3 ACR our less bright because he is gone, and we will miss him. |
