Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tricia LeRoux Birdsell on April 12, 2007:

I know this message comes over a year after Tim has left us, but the pain was just too great at the time to get my thoughts straight. Tim meant so much to all of us, as is evidenced through the numerous messages left for him.

Tim was such a wonderful friend to me since we were plebes in D-1. His smile would light up a room and it was impossible to be in a bad mood around him. My fondest memories of Tim were football Saturday?s. All of us would cheer through the whole game and then meet up with Tim?s family for a tailgate. Tim was nice enough to share his family with us during those four years. They became a surrogate family to all of us who had family far away. We would all spend hours talking (or making fun of each other) at Buffalo Solider Field before heading back to the barracks.

Tim--thank you for giving me the awesome gift of your friendship, for letting me into your family, and for bringing Katie and Natalie into my life. I truly always felt welcome around all of them and I am so grateful to you for that. There isn?t a day that goes by that I don?t think of you. You are such a wonderful person and I miss you dearly. I hope that the bonds you helped me create with Katie, Natalie, your parents, and Lauren stay strong for years to come.
