Be Thou At Peace

Scotty:

It has been 8 years since you left us and there is not one that goes by that I don't think of my good friend. I always remember giving you my silly argument on not buying that jet ski you wanted to buy. How it was going to be a waste of money and you bought it anyway. In retrospect I can tell you it was a great decision as you got to enjoy it before you departed us.

It is always upsetting to think we had plans to go to Nashville the weekend after things ended up so abruptly without a chance to say good bye. I even kept a weird energy drink you liked and left in my fridge for years as a small memory of you. There were some good times and some good memories and I am glad I had the pleasure to meet such a sincere and fundamentally good person as you.

I hope one day we get to meet again and catch up on your adventures while leaving me stuck here on earth and in the army.

Rainier
