Lenny, farewell, my man. I could hardly believe it when I heard the news--I thought about us being the only Yuks in a history class full of Firsties--about you making jokes in the several classes I had with you--and about us at the basic course, laughing it up in 1st Platoon. You were always in the greatest spirits, even in the worst of times, and always gave everybody reason to smile when things weren't going well at all. We could all use you here, now. You were a great man, Lenny, and I'm sorry hear you've gone--you'll be greatly missed by all of us. To Sarah and the rest of his family--there's nothing I can say or write to tell you how sorry I feel for you, but my prayers are with you. Dave Dixon |
