Classmate Larry B. Saska (Plebe Company F-3) was born on 12/07/1946 in Illinois. He passed away on 05/06/2007, also in Illinois. Though non-graduating, he became a member of the Association of Graduates.

After leaving West Point, Larry graduated with a BA from Loyola in 1969. He went through the Field Artillery School in Ft. Sill, OK, and then served with the 2/14 Arty 4AD Europe in 1970, then 1AD in 1971. In 1973 he became a manager of a baseball club. In 1980 Larry obtained his JD from John Marshall Law School and thereafter practiced law in Chicago as a criminal defense attorney. As well, he at one time ran for political office. His residence at the time of his death was 4245 W Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60639. Also of note is that, when he was eleven years old, Larry and his sister Rosemarie became survivors of the infamous "Our Lady of the Angels" Catholic school fire.

Saska, Larry B. of Des Plaines, formerly of Chicago. Beloved brother of Rosemarie (Russell) Hollingsworth and Mary (Tony) LaVigna, loving uncle of Cheryl, Karen Hollingsworth and Shirley (Jerry) Alwais, proud great-uncle of Edward and Alex Alwais. Visitation Wednesday, 3 to 9 p.m., at Oehler Funeral Home (Des Plaines Chapel), 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines. Prayer service Thursday, 10:45 a.m., from chapel, to St. Stephen Church, 1280 Prospect, Des Plaines. Mass 11:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. 847-824-5155.
