Rhett William Schiller

West Point, 2003

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jamie (Curry) Chapman on November 21, 2006:

Rhett was one of the funniest and sweetest people I knew. I've never been a real people person but Rhett pulled me out of my shell and forced me to participate in school activities. He was a geniunely good person with such a giving heart. He always had a crooked smile and a corny joke to brighten my day. I'm sure I'll never know a better man with a bigger heart.

I spent most of my time at West Point hating being there. But Rhett was so proud of it and made me realize that my problems were my own fault and I should own up to them. He was a dear friend and I will miss him more than words can say. I learned so much from him that I will keep with me all my life. I guess I never took the time to tell him, but I appreciate all he did for me and all he meant to me.

When someone wonderful passes through your life you never forget the way they impact it. Rhett was one of those wonderful people who could touch your soul and never let on that they know how great they are. But I hope he did know. He was someone special and I will never forget him.

I hate that he's gone and I send my deepest regrets to his family and loved ones. God bless you and hold you close to His heart in your time of grief. God bless Rhett for all the joy he brought to my life and the lives of others. May we all meet again someday in a better place.
