On the sixth anniversary of the attack on 9-11, I consider the great struggle that this nation is engaged in and the sacrifice that the Global War on Terrorism has demanded from its sons and daughter. I am reminded that few have not been touched directly by this war in one way or another. I think of you, as I often do, and the sacrifice that you have made. The life you gave for your country. How you traded your tomorrows so that others would not have to give theirs. I can only imagine the pain of your parents, relatives, and friends; their lives not so different from mine. I did not personally know you, but as the war goes on, it is you I think of when I think of cost of freedom. Thank you. |
