I don't know how to start this. I was Laura's tactical officer at USMA during her senior year. I just found out about Laura's death only minutes ago. I am shocked and saddened. Laura was a smart cadet who was also a great role model for the other female cadets in the company. As a cadet platoon leader she was very organized, always had her work done on time and took care of her subordinates. She pushed me hard sometimes when she questioned my decisions but I know it was only because she was looking out for her classmates. Laura had a bright future ahead of her.
