There is not much to say when something like this happens except for why? After serving one tour already, I know its not anything that you can control because things just happen over there... and you go on with life, despite the pain that grips your every move or the mention of someones name that brings the tears welling in your eyes. You find a way to function and continue so that you don't lose yourself in the process. Laura had a great gift of being a great leader, evidenced much by what people have said up to this point. Now, she will fill an even bigger role - being an inpiration to us all through her sacrifice. I feel touched having known her and only wish that I had the chance to know her better. In time the pain will dim, but the indeliable mark that she left upon us all will continue to shine. Trou Six |
