Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Chris on October 18, 2005:

I went into my own class eulogy page today and ended up scrolling through the various eulogy pages of the multitudes of classes that have passed through what many of us consider to be near sacred grounds at West Point. As I touched upon this class and opened this page I was immediately struck by 2 things: first, a bright radiant smile. Never having met Laura, it is quite obvious that she held a personality that reached out to and embraced all around her. Second, such an endearing list of comments that have been made by so many touched by this young lady's life. Moments like this touch my own heart very much and I wonder what is the most appropriate thing to offer those who knew and loved this young lady: words of solace, prayers .. what is best? In my own mind I suppose the knowledge that what we do in this life and how we do it translates into something quite special and meaningful, and that there is purpose in all. From reading on how Laura passed, she did so serving others and her fellow man and in so blessed the lives of countless people she never met or knew. I pray that she is equally blessed and at peace. I also believe that she is still blessing and teaching those around her. I pray her family may take comfort in these things. God Bless
