Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lyndsey on April 30, 2006:

Dearest Laura,

April will be over soon--another month gone by since you left us. It still feels like yesterday, and some days, a lifetime ago. I think of you always, and not a day goes by that someone or something doesn't remind me of you or a time that we shared. I read an article about the possibility of a female president in our future, but how they thought the Commander-in-Chief should have military experience and none of the women considered for the position were qualified in that way. I couldn't help but smile and think of how I knew someone who could fill those shoes. I will never forget our last night before West Point together by your grandparent's pool. You, striving for everything you could imagine, and me, looking on admirably wishing I could be as brave. You always had enough for the both of us... it would have been nice of you to leave some of it behind for me.:) Miss you, love you, my hero today and always...
