| Mike was my roomate during Beast Barracks along with Matthew Rowe. I later left the academy in 2001 after our plebe year in order to get married. Although we did not keep in touch very much after I left, I will never forget the times we shared that summer. Mike was a funny guy who would always put a positive spin on whatever stupid things we had to do during beast and everyday always ended with a laugh. I later commissioned through OCS and am currently in Iraq right now. I was sitting here trying to look up my old classmates from West Point on AKO, trying to see where everyone was at these days since its been about 7 years since I have talked to most of them when I ran across Mike's memorial page. I was in total shock. I express my deepest condolences to Mike's family, he was a great man who wanted nothing more than to serve his country. Although I only had the pleasure of being Mike's friend for a year, I will never forget him or the laughs we shared. |
