Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Sean Chang on August 2, 2010:

Dear Heather, Mr. and Mrs. Holbrook,

Diana and I are so sorry for your loss. No words I write here will ease your pain, but I will write about Jason and remember him as a great friend, one exceptional officer, a wonderful son, and a loving husband.

Back in IOBC, Jason and I were in the same squad along with Mike. We drank a lot, had a lot of fun, and hated the same instructor. Jason's pickup was always the vehicle of our choice because it's very comfortable. Yeah. I can't remember how many times we had to sleep in Jason's truck after our ATL trip.

After all the benning schools, we went separate ways but ended up fighting in Iraq at the same time.

Then came MCCC at Benning again. Jason and I ended up in the same small group. This time, we were a little more mature. Still, we had a lot of fun together but we were both planning for something more important, marrying that special someone. Diana and I truly enjoyed Jason and Heather's beautiful wedding in that white sand beach. It was a lovely day.

After MCCC, once again, we went separate ways but we ended up in the same country again fighting for what we believe in.

To Jason,

Friend, I will miss you. I know you are with Mike in God's serene pasture right now probably making fun of me. Please remember us the livings because we always remember and miss you. Thank you for what you did. And I wish that all of us will have the same courage to also give that last full measure of devotion for things we believe in. Rest in Peace my friend...
