Be Thou At Peace

Posted by TJ Root on August 9, 2010:

Jason was simply one of the finest. I have so many fond memories of spending Plebe year together in H-3, most of which involve surviving duties as a group. Jason was always fearless when it came time to face the upperclassmen and take the heat that awaited us nightly as our leadership tried to live up to their harsh reputation. Though in retrospect the difficulties of those duties and the "attention" meted out by the older cadets was never worthy of the fear it caused among us, Jason was one of the few who was utterly and eternally fearless. I was not, nor were most of us. But as many have said, Jason embodied the ideal of keeping an even temperament and, when things were at their roughest, he was always a man to be counted on. I have no doubt that in the moments he and the men of his ODA faced danger and made the heaviest of sacrifices, they were as ably led as any team could hope to be. They were lucky, as we all are, to have known and served with Jason.

Rest easy, friend. Go hurricanes.

DOL,
TJ
