Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Clo' Noble on August 12, 2010:

To Jason's family, may you find Comfort at this time knowing our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Partly on behalf of my son who is now in Iraq I write the following to you. To my son Jason was a Fellow Texan, Classmate, Comrade in Arms, Roommate and friend. He thought the world of Jason. I had the pleasure of meeting Jason in Dallas when I took my son there to meet him on their way to Alaska. I bought them lunch that day and we visited for a while. I was in the presence of two fine young men. They both believed in America. I remember thinking, this is the best of America! I observed them both closely and found they were very serious of the task that lay ahead for them. Both ready to do all they could to make our Nation a safer place. I will never forget Jason's penetrating blue eyes. Honest and decent, I thought. The Biblical Principle of "Freedom through Military Victory" was given by God for our protection. It must be carried out by men like Jason and my son, whatever the cost. May we forever remember Soldier's like Jason and their sacrifice for our cherished liberty. It should inspire and hearten the soul's of all who remember. Just as our Lord made the greatest sacrifice of all History on the Cross...dying so that mankind might have eternal life...so the Soldier sacrifices his time, his fortune and sometimes his life so that others might live in Freedom. For those of us who are the beneficiaries of these two majestic sacrifices, may we never forget the Honor due our Lord and Savior, and the Intrepid men, like Jason, who purchase our Freedoms on the Battlefields.
