Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Margaret Moten on August 16, 2011:

Dave, you made the room light up when you entered. You were so confident and tough, but you also had a sensitive and funny side. You made our Staff Ride to Normandy so very special. I remember you standing in the sand and teaching us about how bravely the soldiers fought on Omaha Beach. You spent many a Sunday afternoon at our house talking about history, the Army, and current events. We all adored you -- my kids looked up to you. I attended my first Army Rugby game to cheer you on. My son is following in your footsteps. We were so honored to celebrate your graduation with your lovely family. You made us all proud then and each and every day since. Though distance kept us apart, you remained in our hearts, and we will keep you in our hearts until we meet again in a better place. Well done. Be Thou at Peace, Dave.
