Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ryan Miller on December 7, 2007:

First, to the family of Adam, the thoughts of my family and I are with you at this tragic time.
Adam, or Corporal Snyder as I knew him most "fondly" was my team leader second semester of plebe year. I put fondly in quotes because he was definitely all business when it came to developing me. However, due to his powerful leadership, and motivating force when it came to making me a better soldier and man, I excelled militarily way beyong my peers. A lot of what he taught me, and the methods he used, I would adapt for when I was working with my plebe a year later...and he was also incredibly successful.

I didn't know Adam much beyond that unfortunately, but I know that he was tough as nails, and I can tell that the men he led were proud to have a leader like him in charge of them. And his acting talents will now have to be played on a different stage, but the backdrop of heaven's theater puts to shame even the most elaborate and beautiful of any stage found on all of this earth.

I was recently injured myself in Southern Baghdad, and one of my good friends set up a facebook group for me. A lot of the members of the group were friends from high school -people who live in Manhattan and have absolutely no concept of how serious this war that's going on was until I got hurt and it struck home. I will post the link to this site, so they are made aware of the great man Adam was and can offer thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Adam, you and your family are in my heart. Be thou at peace brother.
