Be Thou At Peace

Posted by 1LT Todd Angstman on December 12, 2007:

I met Adam when I joined the Glee Club. By chance, we sat next to each other, and soon we became good friends. I was grateful to Adam for providing an outlet for all the stresses of plebe year. He and I had a lot of similar experiences: plebe year in H4, the Glee Club, Sapper school, and on to IOBC and Ranger school.

Throughout all of my trials, Adam was always there to reassure me that no task was too tough. I have always looked up to Adam as the role model for the officer I wanted to be. Whether is was sacrificing his time to help others, or just being willing to go down to the firstie club to share a beer, Adam was always there for me.

My last visit with Adam was certainly a memorable one. He had recently returned from his first deployment and was at home on leave. I was able to spend five days with him at his home in Florida. His family took me in as if I had lived there all my life.

Judging by the number of other eulogies, I have glad to see that Adam was able to touch so many lives. He was a good friend, and I will miss him.
