John: Ever since the news came Friday morning, August 17, of your departure from this world I have thought often of the words spoken by Jesus: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 Thank you for showing us how to love. Thank you for serving our Country. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice for us ... for our nation ... for our freedoms. Thank you for the example you have been and the tremendous legacy you leave to us even though you have left this earth so young. Your life has been a blessing to many of us here in Auburn, Alabama who were given the opportunity of knowing you. Our hearts are heavy and we miss you. As you requested before you left for Iraq; we will do our best to take care of your precious Laura. Rest well in the arms of Jesus, dear soldier. We look forward to being reunited with you one day.
