Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Gerry Tausch on September 13, 2007:

Though I have never known your family, please accept my deepest sympathy in your great loss of Jonathon. What an outstanding young man. His photograph makes his exemplary character clearly visitble. I immediately felt a loss at not having known him, and compelled to write to you now.

16 months ago,in memory of my beloved Armor husband, I founded a Military Ministry, with the mission of supporting the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our team maintains a display of meaningful memorabilia from this war, including requests for prayers.

I hope what I write next meets with your concurrence. I had an excellent 8x10 copy made of Jonathan's cadet photo. Anyone viewing it, as it centers at our various ministry displays, will readily appraise his fine character.

Jonathon obviously represents: "The Best of the Best".
My late husband, Colonel Roland D. Tausch, USMA, Class of 1951, has also joined The Long Gray Line. The Line now
encompasses them both.

I feel sure that the First Director of Training of the Armor School, would feel priviledged to have his name coupled with that of your wonderful son.

God Bless You and all who miss him, especially Laura.

Sincerely,
Gerry Tausch
widow of Colonel Roland D. Tausch
