Be Thou At Peace

-Tom...

I'm still in shock over what's happened. It's sad to know that we won't see your smiling face in the e-mails you thoughtfully sent whenever you had the time. Meeting in MAJ McGowan's economics class was an experience and it only got better through the milart and history classes.

Weird twists of fate (more like NO GOs) brought us together for another trip in the mountains of Dahlonega. Your third trip in fact, and my second recycle in as many phases. I felt broken down and a little depressed but you had all the cures....Stories of y'alls crazy antics while on recycle status.....Ridiculous stories of bad weather on Hawk MTN and RI moments. And then you just said "hey man, I thinks it's time we agree to quit recycling and just graduate this place". You were always there to calm me down and keep me sane. A patrol could be going horrible and all you had to say was "Hey men, pull it together. Goonies never say die". I'll always remember those moments: Getting our GO's after wacked out patrols (santa rosa island!!). The multiple trips up Mt. Yonah with a radio or SKEDCO. Singing hymns on Mt. Yonah and praying in Florida with CH Wilson and the rest of the gang. Thanks for always being there, and keeping in touch after we left for our units. You'll always be my Ranger buddy Tom. Always.

To Erika and Tom's family: He loved you with all of his heart and soul. Tom was a wonderful friend, a great leader, and warrior to the core. You raised a wonderful son.

Tommy, I'll see you at the top brother. Hold the high ground.
