I had the privelage of coaching Tom when he played for the rugby team. There are certain people who, through their spirit, honesty, humor, and commitment, touch you in a special way. Tom was one of those people for me, and clearly to all of those lucky enough to know him. I remember when Tom told me that he couldn't continue to play rugby because he had to focus on his studies. He did so with a tear in his eye and obviously a heavy heart, thinking that he was letting the team down. Little did he know that I couldn't have been more proud of him. This is just a small testament to the wonderful character of this man. I am deeply saddened for Tom's family and friends. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Mike McKay |
