| Tom, it has been one year since that awful day. It hasn't gotten any easier. I still carry that silly looking West Point photo of you around in my breast pocket over my heart everyday and on every patrol. I know you've been watching my butt over here. You were always better at this stuff than me anyway. I pray for your family and Erika often. Erika has been so strong, you'd be so proud of her. We all miss you, but you live in our hearts and our memories so you are never truly gone. I'll meet you on the high ground. Keep my seat warm and my beer cold. Until that day, I will continue to think of you often. Love you, brother. |
