Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ron Valentine on November 15, 2007:

Shankster-Man do I have countless memories of all the great times we had together from prep extended beyond our years at the academy. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about the wonderful person you are and the memorable friendship that we acquired over the years. I have attempted many times to write this eulogy and each time I had to stop myself because I just could not face the fact that you were no longer with us and that I may never be able to taste another one of your grandmother’s cookies (the butterscotch ones) that she often sent to you- man were they good! I remember how each time she sent you a “goodie” box you would always invite me over and we would sit and reminisce on life- past to present. Neale you are definitely among the best in all walks of life and are surely missed. I will never forget you man! You taught me so much about being a warrior and a standout leader for those under my care. I know you are looking down on me and please know as I have told you many times before, that I truly appreciate your friendship. My condolences go out to the Shank family and it is my prayer that you will one day find peace in the midst of your storm. May God continue to bless and keep you!
