Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jackie DeSenna on April 5, 2007:

Be thou at peace my friend. Neale you were truly a great friend and mentor to those around. You had a great sense of pride, spirit, integrity, and mental toughness that resonanted respect. You were definitely a standard bearer when it came to uniform inspections, military tasks, personal fitness, and holding your subordinates accountable. Even when you knew there would be negative backlash for challenging the status quo you stood your ground and voiced your opinion. That is truly a sign of a great leader, a great thinker, a great man.

When I first met you at the Prep School I was truly amazed to find someone so passionate about what they do and what a lifetime of service to our great nation really means. I remember you recruiting me to the Sandhurst team, and you taking the extra time to teach me how to swim, being a member of the Troop together, and just all the time we spent together. As a matter of fact, you came up with a name for my first ever email address and I still have it to this day. You thought it was fitting because I never thought I'd get the hang of it. I remember you laughing so hard when I actually used it too.

Man, Neale, I am truly going to miss you... but I know you are in a better place. God Bless you.
