To Neale's Family, Neale and our son Andrew were roommates and friends at West Point, and found that they had many things in common. Both had lived in Indiana, been prior service, and had brothers at the Naval Academy. During our visits to West Point, Neale was always very respectful and polite to us. Neale has a special place in our family history. He served as the Best Man in Andrew's wedding just a week after Graduation, and looked very handsome in his new dress blues. Several times during the afternoon, he helped to move chairs placed outside for an outdoor wedding as rain showers periodically moved in. He really wanted the wedding couple to have the outdoor ceremony they desired. At dinner, he gave a heartfelt toast to the newlyweds. We will treasure these lovely memories of Neale as a newly minted Second Lieutenant in his dress blues. Shirley and Walt Blackburn |
