Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Todd Stevens on April 11, 2016:

Greg was one of my best friends growing up. I went to Barrington High School with Greg, CCD classes, and had sleepovers at his house. He was one of the smartest and funniest guys I knew in school. I knew he was going to be something great. I remember riding bikes with him in the summer to the end of the bike path in Providence. I was winded but he cheered me on and we made it to the end. Then we had to ride all the way back home. We went the distance. Thanks Greg. I used to give him rides to CCD class in my truck, we didn't get much done but we had a blast. I remember when I slept over his house, his parents would have the most amazing breakfast I've ever had. His parents were good people and raised a good man. After high school graduation, he went off to study at West Point and I went to the Community College of Rhode Island. We lost touch but I was hoping to see him again. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I found out about his death weeks after it happened. My father read about it in the newspaper but thought I already knew but I wasn't informed. I was crushed. I missed his funeral and I truly regret not being there. I miss him dearly. My heart goes out to his parents and his sister Kerri. I think about him all the time and it still hurts. Rest in peace my friend. I know you're in Heaven looking down on us.

Love ya buddy,

Todd Stevens
