Be Thou At Peace

Posted by James Hickman on April 26, 2008:

Tim, you were among the finest examples of Christian manhood I have ever known. I looked up to you while I was a cadet and then during BOLC and IOBC, and later in Ranger School. As DZ mentioned, I was glad to see that you were moving on to Florida when I got recycled in mountains along with many others. I was excited that you would be home to see your daughter be born. It didn't surprise me at all that you would make it home to see her birth. Our time at West Point was often spent on opposite sides of the fence, but I am thankful for many memories from OCF or joint prayer services like the one on Good Friday two years ago when we had lots of Catholics, Protestants and others come together to worship Christ. You had a way of uniting folks. You carried your cross daily and I'll never forget your time carrying the 240 during IOBC with the weapons squad or your PL time when we conducted the company attack and our platoon had the breech. What a long, cold, crappy night! I took platoon sergeant and Nate took over for you as PL. You always kept your cool and found the good in any situation. I'm thankful for the time we spent during Bible study in Columbus. Gosh, you were a good man and for some reason God likes to take the best too soon. Please pray for me as you watch over us. I'll keep Sam and Abigail in my prayers.

In Christ,
Jamie
