Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brian Blake on April 28, 2008:

Tim,

You are my friend, old roomie, encourager, brother, and so many other things. Your constant devotion and dependance upon God's Word day in and day out was and is both an encouragement and challenge to me, something I strive for daily in my honest pursuit after God.

I remember you telling me about Eric Liddell and the example his life was for you. Gifted in so many areas, and empowered by our Lord to minister and encourage in countless lives around the world...and then he died in a Japanese prison camp just a few months before the end of WWII. Encouraging so many people and impacting so many lives, and so close to returning to his family, but God had other plans.

You were the last person I expected to see go in our fight overseas. Your military competence and creativity were superb, and I consider you the spiritual rock of our class. If anything ever happened to you, I knew it had to be because God has a plan to use you elsewhere. Your race on this side was pure gold, my friend. I am so thankful for the hope that we share in Christ, and I look forward to seeing you on the otherside.

My heart and prayers are with your beautiful family and loved ones.

I love you, buddy, and I'll be harassin' you later.

Brian
