Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Christen Booth (Hume) on May 2, 2008:

I had the chance to know Tim and his family a long time ago during Tim's elementary, jr. high, and high school years. The last time I saw him, I believe was my senior year. I told him that I was proud of him for things he had done and told him that he will soar on wings of Eagles (no pun due to the fact Rusk is home of the Eagles and so is Ft. Campbell, I believe). I wasn't a part of the church anymore where we both got to grow up and try to better myself, but I told him, "You will never be forgotten as just you. You won't be forgotten at all and you will always be remembered as a hero." I cannot tell you why, but I knew it. And he is a hero. To everyone he has known and not and will never know on this Earth. Tim has a heart of gold, never tarnished, always bright and beautiful. He gets his love, his spirit and his kindness from his family. John and Cindy are great, great people. The ones you always want to know and care for. Tim was never hurtful, and he always found good in everyone he met. Being in the church with him, I always found good company with him and knew that he was always on my side along with everyone else.

It hurts, alot, knowing someone my age, from my hometown, who has died in such a horrible place, but knowing how he died, going to help someone else, I know that it is what he would have wanted in the first place. If you asked him for help, he would go out of his way to do so. He has the "all out" syndrome. But not in a bad way. I have never known Tim to do something half way. I have never known any of the Cunningham family to do so. I wish the world got to know Tim and the rest of his family the way I had gotten to know them. As for his wife and baby, I don't know them and probably never will, however my heart goes to you and may you know and remember that Tim will always be watching over you, and that he is truly a soldier of his God now.

Tim, my friend, I will never again get to see your smiling face in person again, but I will always see it shine from above for the rest of my days here. Your kindness, your love, devotion, loyalty, respect, and friendship will never be doubted and will always be remembered. Bless your family and all your friends who knew you and will see you again one day. Till we meet again, my dear friend. Watch over us and protect us.

With everlasting love and friendship,
Christen Booth (Hume) and Family
