Be Thou At Peace

Dewey, When I checked my email last night and saw your name, I just walked away from my computer because I didn't want to accept it. And then when the realization set in, I started to cry. Even now, I partly won't accept it. This life isn't fair when the good ones go. I remember the character and innocence you embodied when you got to the Academy. I remember talking about Embry Riddle and the strong relationship we all developed during Beast. You lived a noble life, far outpacing the simple lives so many other people live. You are what makes this world a great place and that will never be taken away. I pray deeply for the Dewhirst family, thankful that you gave us a son who met the challenges of this country with a stalwart sensibility and warrior mindset. May God bless you as He attempts to console as only He can. May it be said well done, Nick. Be thou at peace, brother. Solemnly, Mike |
