Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Anonymous on February 14, 2005:

Jim Colwell, We knew you up close for such a little while. You were a gentle giant, always with a smile and a kind word. The night we learned of your passing is etched in my mind. We came out to the apron in quiet memory of your comradeship and frienship. You were only the second of us to pass into the shadows, and that was startling. More startling was that it happened to one so full of vitality and life. Despite our special place that honors fallen heroes, there was a sense at our then young age, of invulnerability. You reminded us of our own mortality, and the fleeting time to complete our missions. Others of our band of brothers have since joined you, all in great company. I am sure that Jody and Dan and Tom and Jesus, and the rest of our classmates were as glad to see you as we all will be when, once more, we are all together in one place. 'Til then...Grip Hands!
