West Point, 1966

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Gene Driscoll on June 24, 2013:

This eulogy for Chris is based on input received from the Honorable Martin (Marty) Nohe, his son and Andrea, his daughter. Marty is the Coles District Supervisor in Prince William County, Virginia with whom I and Ron Meier were in contact.

Chris Nohe and I were roommates the early part of plebe year. He had his own views of life and did things his own way. He was a good man whose heart was in the right place. He did not graduate from West Point, but, nonetheless, served his country well as evidenced by the information provided by Hon. Martin Nohe and Martin's sister, Andrea.

Chris' eulogy is brief but to the point. After leaving West Point, Chris stayed in the Army and eventually retired as a chief warrant officer (W-4)in 1987 with over 22 years of service. Chris spent the bulk of his career at the Defense Mapping School located at Fort Belvoir, VA, although his last duty station was in Hawaii. Chris then had a private sector career primarily in Northern Virginia, until shortly before his death on January 17,2000.

Chris' remains are buried at Quantico National Cemetery in Prince William County, Virginia. His son Martin, and sister, Andrea, both live in PWC, VA. Chris is interred in Section 3, Site 993.

Anyone interested in visiting Chris, or in contacting his family, can contact his son Martin at martynohe@comcast.net, or his daughter, Andrea, at anohe@aol.com
