| Beyond this sad and tragic loss to the Hyde family, this is a loss to the Long Gray Line, Army and Nation of such an outstanding young leader of character and accomplishment. It is clear this young officer led by example. Even clearer, is that those who knew Daniel at West Point and in the Army will not forget his example and esprit de corps.
