To Dan's family, I had the privilege of getting to know your son during our Firstie year. To use a popular West Point phrase, Dan was a "stud" - not only physically and academically gifted, but held in high regard by officers and cadets alike. I imagine the same could be said by the Soldiers that served in his unit. There is no way for me to adequately express how sorry I am for your loss, but I hope you find comfort during this difficult time. Please know that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
