Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Stephen Hardwick on March 24, 2017:

I think about you often Jay and the crazy days at the point in D2 or cadre during Buckner 2 together. I am often asked to describe the type of person you are as I wear a steel hearts bracelet in your honor. Trying to sum you up in a sentence or two is always hard but it usually comes down to this. "Jay was the guy that was good at everything - academics, pt, soldier tasks, you name it. But you loved him more for it and always wanted him around because he was a genuine good dude." Probably not the best description but the best I can usually come up with at the time because at the same time of thinking about you I remember the time when I first found out about your passing. I was in a hospital holding my newborn son shortly after he was born. In that moment I experienced a high high and low low and will forever be with me in my heart and my wrist as a constant reminder. Thanks for all you did in your short life as you impacted more lives then I think you knew.

Cheers
