Be Thou At Peace

Posted by CPT Jay Ireland on September 15, 2009:

To the Parten Family,

Let me first start off by saying how unbelievably sorry I am for your loss. Tyler was an unbelievable officer and he died doing what he always did...leading from the front. Tyler truly was a hero. Tyler was a fantastic officer that embodied what it meant to possess duty, honor, and country.

Tyler was an incredibly gifted individual who displayed his talents to the whole Squadron during our final spur ride before we left for Afghanistan. Tyler played his guitar with that huge, dimpled face of his and created one of the funniest songs, poking fun at himself and others for all to hear. We could all tell that he was a great person from a great family.

The squadron all feels his loss and we will continue on because that is what he would have wanted us to do. I can only hope that we can honor his and your sacrifice.

Let me know if there is anything that I can do.

Yours truly,

CPT Jay Ireland
