Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brian Carlson on May 3, 2010:

Sal,

You are a friend that was always smiling.
You're personality was one of warmth and sharing.
You are one who many are proud to have known.
You have touched the lives of everyone you've encountered.

I am lucky to consider you my friend.
I will always miss your contagious optimism.
I am blessed to have been able to share a part of your life.
My life is better for knowing you.

We will remember your generosity.
We will remember your grace under pressure.
We will remember your strength and poise.
We will remember you.

Be Thou At Peace my friend!

To Sal's family,

I am so lucky to have known your son for any amount of time. He and my old roommate Joe Lapointe were very good friends during our time at West Point, and I saw Sal on a very regular basis. I will always remember your son as being one of the nicest, caring, and generous people I've ever met. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and it is clear that everything he did, he put his heart and soul into accomplishing it. Your son will be greatly missed by everyone that met him. While this tragedy is beyond any words of condolence I could provide, please take pride in knowing that you raised a brave strong young man that lived an honorable life in which his selflessness and integrity are an inspiration to those of us that knew him.
