Be Thou At Peace

Dear Kelsey and Mr. and Mrs. Goeke and Family: As a USMA '72 grad and father of a USMA '01 grad, both having served in the 82d, and now living close to Bragg, I am deeply saddened by your loss. Little I can say can ameliorate your grief. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that our family's thoughts and prayers are with you and Chris. He is one of a "special breed" whose legacy will live on in your hearts, in the Division, and in the Long Grey Line. He is a man, a leader, a Soldier who is personified in the Roosevelt quote he loved (a personal favorite of mine) and in a quote from Isaiah 6:8 - "And I heard the voice of the Lord say, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for me? And I answered, "Here am I Lord, send me". May God bless Chris and the soldiers lost with him. God bless your family. "May it be said, "well done".
