Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Chaplain Paige Heard on July 19, 2010:

Dear Goeke Family,
May the God of all comfort give you peace.

Your son, brother and husband impacted every person he came in contact with in such a positive way. I am forever a better person because of my relationship with him. Every week during his Firstie year he came to my office to plan our weekly meeting with the PSST leadership team. We talked about many things. He always kept me on my toes...a very deep and inquisitive person. Invariably, we would talk about his relationship with Kelsey. He could not wait to propose to her. Kelsey, I know that you know how much he loved you.

I'm very thankful that Chris was in my life. There are so many things that I'll miss about Chris: his smile, his talent in making everyone feel so comfortable around him, his ability to freestyle on the guitar or whatever instrument, and his gait. I could tell it was Chris from a "mile" away from his walk and as he drew closer I would see his smile. I know he is smiling in the presence of God right now. I'll see you again. "We live by faith, not by sight." 2 Cor. 5:7
