Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Steven Warner on July 20, 2010:

I remember Chris from our countless encounters while I served on Battalion staff Firstie year. I often ran in to him in the hallways on the first floor of Ike. He was an incredibly kind person. Regardless of the time of day, he always had a smile and kind hello. He would often stop me for a few minutes just to chat. I remember that smile most of all.

He was an excellent leader, and despite how much cadets can be angered at Brigade staff, he was always willing to listen to angry tirades against The Man. He had the ability to calm even the most bitter of complaints.

Despite his many invitations, I never attended Bible study with him, but I always respected his deep commitment to his faith. His faith gave him purpose and happiness, and he was always trying to give that gift to others.

I am deeply saddened by his loss. I wish I had kept in better touch with him these past two years. The Army and the Long Gray line have lost a truly great man. Well done, Chris. Be thou at peace.

My condolences to his wife and Family.
